Norse Hollow Dairy Goats is situated at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in scenic Greenup County, Kentucky.
We are conveniently located just miles from Interstate 64, and only several minutes from Ohio and West Virginia.
We raise several breeds of dairy goats - Lamancha, Saanen, Nubian and Sables - on natural pasture and forages, while employing ecologically sound agricultural practices. Our girls are from heavy milking lines, and we continue to expand on those genetics. We strive to produce animals with strong mammary systems capable of many years of consistent milk production, as well as gentle and easy to handle temperaments. It is our plan to participate in various performance tests throughout the year. Most of our first fresheners produce close to a gallon of milk per day, and our senior milkers often give us close to a gallon and a half per day. Some of our girls have extensive show lines, and we hope to see you in the show ring as well.
We use the delicious milk produced by our does for drinking, cooking, butter and cheeses. Of course we also feed it to our goat kids, and still have plenty for making our soaps. While we cannot legally sell raw milk, we do offer a community goat share program, in which you can purchase shares of a goat. This entitles you to collect your share/s of milk from the goat/s that you own.
We do not claim to have a CAE free herd. However, we do practice CAE prevention, in an effort to give our kids the best start possible. All births are attended, and dams are teat taped at least 7 days before their delivery due date. Our goat kids are bottle-fed heat treated colostrum and pasteurized milk, resulting in gentle and easy to handle dairy goats. They are raised separately from the adults and disbudded, tattooed, vaccinated, dewormed and put on a coccidiosis prevention program. The herd's health is our top priority. All vaccinations are kept current, and we also provide top quality hay, grain, minerals, Bo-Se and plenty of browse.
We offer several doe kids, some select buck kids and occasionally milkers for sale in the Spring. We will update our For Sale Page, as soon as the animals become available. Of course, we would like for all goats and kids to be picked up at the farm, however, we can make air transportation arrangements if necessary.
We belong to several national, regional and local breed clubs and associations. You will find them listed at the bottom of the Breed Description Page.
